The new year heralds a new start with an exciting new venture for Raewyn Greer as she launches the new Belvoir Lettings Agency in Aldershot.
Belvoir Expands to Aldershot
Operating from offices located on Victoria Road in Aldershot town centre, Raewyn joins the growing number of franchisees bringing Belvoir’s award winning service to the southern counties. She will provide the tenants and landlords in the Aldershot and Farnham areas with a variety of good quality residential properties ranging from luxury apartments to family homes.
And whilst the new venture is at a time when ladies of Raewyn’s age might be expected to be thinking about “winding down” rather than launching a new business, there is every indication that this resolute and determined lady will succeed in her mission.
Raewyn’s Journey with Belvoir in Aldershot
A native of New Zealand, Raewyn has notched up an enviable career record in the property industry. She moved to the UK in 1998 and with a successful career of fifteen years in the New Zealand real estate industry, quickly found employment with enough large corporate lettings companies to make her realise that her talents were more suited to smaller independent companies.
Raewyn explains: “In New Zealand I had achieved “top sales person” awards for numerous years and had achieved this success by recognising how important it is to offer clients a service personal to their needs and requirements.
“I felt more comfortable working within smaller organisations rather than large corporates where the “personal” touch isn’t always recognised as important.”
Her introduction to Belvoir came about while she was employed by Redwoods where she was lettings manager for 7 years.
Belvoir’s acquisition of Redwoods brought Raewyn into direct contact with Belvoir and she quickly recognised the benefits and advantages of the company’s operational methods.
Belvoir’s growing network of property letting and management franchises stretches across the whole of the UK and looks after a property portfolio valued at more than £1 billion.
“When I was offered the opportunity to open a Belvoir office in Aldershot I jumped at it,” says Raewyn. “I know I can offer great customer service and am capable of running an organised and efficient business but it is reassuring to know that I can tap into the expertise and knowledge of experienced lettings operators within the Belvoir network. Coupled with that, the company’s comprehensive support and training package is excellent.
“With a growing network of over 150 offices, Belvoir’s credibility as a nationwide franchise made it an offer hard to refuse,” says Raewyn.
With friends and family living in Rotorua in New Zealand, Raewyn visits her homeland as often as possible but recognises that those visits may now be less frequent as she establishes her new business.
Having sadly lost her husband to a very sudden heart attack three years ago, the venture is another aspect of the challenge to embrace her change in circumstances in a positive manner. “I did consider going back to New Zealand,” says Raewyn, “But it seemed too much like the easy option. I needed more of a challenge to keep me going.
“I enjoy work and I enjoy putting people and property together. It gives me great satisfaction to have happy landlords and happy tenants.
“My goal is to have a successful lettings agency where our reputation is second to none and to have landlords that I have helped in the past, keen to come back and work with me again. With Belvoir I know that this is possible.”
Belvoir’s Chief Executive Officer Dorian Gonsalves is confident that Raewyn will be successful in her new venture. “Raewyn has a lot of experience to offer this business,” says Dorian, “And she recognises the opportunities presented by the change in attitudes that we are seeing towards the rental market. The historical obsession with property ownership is waning as people are now beginning to consider renting with a more positive attitude.
“Raewyn is a capable and confident business woman and she is to be admired for making the bold move to launch this new Belvoir office in Aldershot.
“Tenants and landlords in Aldershot and Farnham will receive a high level of specially tailored attention from Belvoir’s nationally accredited award-winning service. All our agents undergo intensive training so they can expect superlative levels of customer service.
“With her positive approach and determination to develop a successful business I know that Raewyn will make it a fantastic success. It is a delight to see her starting off this new year by getting her new business launched.”
The new Belvoir Aldershot office will celebrate its opening this week with an official launch by the Mayor of Aldershot attending the premises at 5pm on 21 January 2014 along with other local dignitaries and invited guests.
