Aldershot has a long military history so it only seems fitting that we start with Aldershot Military Museum. Located on Queens Avenue Aldershot, there’s a lot to learn, and with the Easter Holidays coming up the kids can enjoy activities such as the remote control tank track, replica tank and burn off energy practicing their monkey crawl through the training tunnel.
The museum is located in the only remaining brick built barracks that remains in Aldershot. They aim to tell the tale of what daily life is like for soldiers who would have lived in Aldershot ever since 1854.
Outdoor activities in Aldershot
For when the weather is good, they have an outdoor picnic area situated in their nature area.
With all the recent snow, you can’t help but think of Aldershot’s own Alpine Snowsports centre in Gallwey Road, Aldershot. The centre offers Skiing, Snowboarding and Donutting, which is described by the centre as flying down a ski slope in an inflatable rubber ring!!!
Aldershot is very lucky to have it’s very own Lido for the summer months, normally opening around May right through to September. With it’s water slides, water fountain and sanpit for the smaller children there’s plenty to do for all ages. Take a picnic and make a day of it. (There’s even free wifi if you need to instagram your day out too!)
