Bingham, a little market town in the Vale of Belvoir. Known for its farmers market, quaint cafés and delightful shops, it really is a lovely little location. The town was recently nominated the eighth best place to live and raise a family in the UK. It is also very well connected with the recently built A46, making it a breeze to get to the M1 and other surrounding towns and cities. It has excellent transport links with regular bus routes, easy access to Grantham or Nottingham train station, and Newark is only 12 minutes away. If you are jetting off on holiday or taking a business trip, East Midlands airport is only 40 minutes away.
If you have children of school-age, there are lots of schools rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in the local area including Carnarvon Primary School and Toot Hill School. For further education, Bingham is home to a campus of Central College Nottingham, while you can study for a degree at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.
There are plenty of lovely places to eat and drink, the Picture Café being an all-time favourite. This wonderful, warm and friendly place is located on the market square, and is perfect for kids, light lunches and live music. Other great places are the Circle Eatery, The Wheatsheaf and if Cantonese is to your taste then Yeung Sing is the only one in the region with a Michelin recommendation. Bingham has a number of health, fitness and pampering services too. From Eden Hall, to the Vanity Room and the leisure centre- you can be sure that you will be looking and feeling good!
You can’t be a market town without a market, and Bingham holds one of the best. If you enjoy having a mooch and fancy a nice day out then pop down to the market every Thursday. The farmers market is also held in the market square every third Saturday of the month.
Located within the Vale of Belvoir, there are lots of beautiful surrounding villages nearby that you can explore. From country pubs, lots of lovely walks and of course Belvoir Castle and it’s recently opened Engine Yard retail park- there is plenty to see and do!
Bingham is an up and coming town with definitely lots of potential and housing plans. Property currently stands at £238,487 in September 2018. This is a rise of 0.23% in the last three months (since June 2018) and fall of 0.87% since 12 months ago. In terms of property types, flats in Bingham sold for an average of £119,482 and terraced houses for £168,927. This is according to the current Zoopla estimates.
