Get your garden viewing ready...

We don’t mean to speak too soon, but it seems as though spring has officially sprung this week, even if there is still a chill in the air! Your garden is so important when it comes to selling your home, it can be a massive selling point, but can also be the one thing that could be detrimental to the sale of your property if it isn’t up to scratch.

Summer is (hopefully) fast approaching so it’s imperative that your garden is looking the best it can, ready for the sale of your house in the summer. Now, we’re not detracting from the interior – of course the interior of a property is still of paramount importance but to many people, outside space is right at the top of their priorities list, so it’s important yours really captures a prospective buyers attention.

We did a quick poll over on Twitter to see just how important a garden is to a buyer, a staggering 85% said they would take in to account the garden that a property has when on a viewing, this really shows how important it is to have it looking great! The best way to keep your garden looking great all year round it to make sure it’s low maintenance – you really don’t want to feel like you’re constantly chasing your tail trying to keep it neat and tidy.

A good garden can transform a standard patch of land in to another living space, if you’ve got enough room a nice paved area provides a space for parents to sit and watch as their kids play in the grassy area – it’s good to point out to prospective buyers different features of your garden such as the extra hidden garden through the hedge at the end, or the fact that there’s plenty of space for a swing set for families with children!

One important thing to remember is to make sure your garden is well lit, at night time can you easily look out the window and see what’s out there?…it’s a really good security precaution to take and would be an attractive addition for many buyers.
