One of West Bridgford’s most established property management agencies is set for a steep ascent following its sale to a new business consortium including three military pilots.
Residential property lettings specialist, Belvoir, based at Gordon Road, is on a flight path for further growth after Matthew Tucker, Neil Farrell and Ross Thompson have joined property professional, Jasmine Clay, in the multi award winning national franchise.
Jasmine, who has a degree in law, has helped manage Belvoir West Bridgford for a number of years. Since then the business has built an enviable reputation with a broad and diverse portfolio of properties under management, looking after the professional interests of landlords, tenants and buy to let investors alike.
The arrival of senior partner, Matthew, along with colleagues Neil and Ross is seen as a major development opportunity for the Belvoir brand in the Nottingham area.
A pilot since 2002, with a private property rental portfolio of his own, Matthew says: “Military training instills qualities such as efficiency, determination, integrity and honesty and we are driven by a constant goal for excellence.
“Bringing these attributes as part of a broader package of transferable management skills to our new venture creates the opportunity to build on the good reputation already established by the previous owners. We intend, now, to develop a further enhanced customer service package targeted to the specific needs and expectations of both existing and prospective clients.
He adds: “Throughout our professional careers we have all had experiences of being either landlords or tenants and unfortunately, agents we have used have not always been up to the mark.
“Our mission is to very quickly become THE recognised property professionals of choice in the area by combining Jasmine’s extensive knowledge of property lettings and management and her first class knowledge of the local market, with our respective management, marketing and communications skills.
“We have a very clear handle on the specific needs of the broad, multi-tiered demographic of the region, ranging from young professional couples and singleton tenants, through to family groups and students.
“Housing stock is just as varied, from large Victorian period properties, many of which contain flat conversions, through to the former local authority housing estate in nearby Clifton – an area which is undergoing considerable regeneration and also catching the eye of potential buy to let investment landlords,” he added.
Ross Thompson says: “Venturing into professional property management could be considered as a new career experience but there are many parallels with our military background, built on a foundation of providing honourable, ethical and excellent service to the public we serve.”
Sharing the same sentiment is Neil Farrell who as well as being a pilot, is a military flying instructor and a member of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight team, piloting the Lancaster Bomber.
Commenting on why he has chosen to take on the challenge of a new role outside of the cockpit, he says: “It can be extremely frustrating to see your assets mismanaged by a poor agent, and being a private tenant can also be a challenge if you fall victim to unscrupulous behaviour.
“We want to bring new levels of transparency and customer insight to the sector and luckily, in Jasmine, we have a consummate professional who has built a tremendous rapport with clients by understanding their needs and expectations, and then delivering on them.”
Matthew adds: “We also have the extensive backing of Belvoir’s full range of professional support staff and advisors who provide us with a critically important rolling programme of updates on market trends, housing legislation, insurance, health and safety matters and other legal guidance.
“This detailed, contemporary expertise and knowledge provides us with an enormous competitive advantage over less equipped agents and we are entirely confident that our business will grow and prosper with this exceptional team on board.”
Belvoir’s Commercial Director, Dorian Gonsalves, adds: “Since the establishment of the Belvoir brand exactly 20 years ago, we have grown to become a dominant force in the specialist residential lettings and management industry. We guard our reputation very closely by carefully selecting the right people who we know have the right qualities and determination to succeed.
“Amongst our 160 franchised offices throughout the UK there are many examples of former military personnel making a highly successful career switch.
“Our founder and current chairman, Mike Goddard, is himself a former RAF Wing Commander, and over the years his advice and guidance – sitting on various national industry bodies – has helped drive up standards of professionalism across the entire sector.
“We have no doubt that Jasmine and her three new military business partners will make quite an impact in West Bridgford and we look forward, with confidence, to welcoming them as winners of one of our national annual achievement awards in the not too distant future.”
