Information for tenants in Ashton under Lyne

Due to the recent ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) ruling regarding tenant fees, please find below a full list of charges made to a tenant by Belvoir Ashton.

Tenant Charges as of 1st June 2019

In addition to paying the rent, you may also be required to make the following payments permitted under the Tenant Fees Act 2019.

  • Holding Deposit: 1 week’s rent inclusive of VAT
  • Deposit: 1 month rent inclusive of VAT

If a tenant is late with their rental payment, the agent is permitted to charge interest of this outstanding balance of up to 3% above the Bank of England base rate.

For example, as of May 2019 the current base rate is 0.75%, therefore the agent may charge up to 3.75% interest on any rental arrears.

Council Tax

Any other permitted payments, not included above, for breaches of contract or under the relevant legislation including contractual damages.

These may include reasonable costs or losses incurred for loss of keys, security devices and changes to the tenancy agreement or early termination, if the Landlord agrees they can be made, up to the permitted limits.
