An interesting opportunity I think. This one is being advertised by RSB/Lindsays, http://www.tspc.co.uk/details.asp?id=117639
It looks like a nice, one bedroom flat, seems to be in good condition, has GCH, DG, the shared drying area looks fine and the block has secure entry. It’s a good location with easy access to the town centre, main bust routes etc. We let one on the same street without difficulty.
This one is on at offers over £50,000 now I’m confident it would rent for, conservatively, £325 so that’s a rental yield of 7.15% plus the capital appreciation which according to Zoopla for flats in DD4 is just over 3.9% in the last year.
Now the best savings rate I’ve found (Martins Money Tips) at the moment is 2.35% and that’s if you tie your cash up for three years. You don’t need to be Steven Hawking to do this maths.
