This attractive three bedroom family home is being advertised by Thorntons, http://www.tspc.co.uk/details.asp?id=116443.
It’s in a quiet cul-de-sac in the Ferry where we have rented before without any difficulty and it looks to be in good condition.
It’s on at an asking price of £175,000 and I estimate the likely rent would be in the region of £650 or better.
Now this is a yield of around 4%, not earth shattering but still more than your likely to get off the bank for the foreseeable future.
However, if we dig a little deeper we find that semi’s in this area have gone up in value over 22% over the last five years. All of a sudden it looks a lot more interesting I think.
As usual it just highlights the need to look at the bigger picture and also that property is not a ‘short term’ investment.
