I was talking to one of my landlords the other day, when he explained there were no property bargains for him to buy in Dunstable. We don’t sell property and don’t charge for our advice, so we can give impartial advice without any conflict of interest to our landlords. Here is what I discovered recently about finding bargains that I had discovered over the last six months.
A 3 bed terraced house on Bowmans Way sold in 2007 for £175,000. In July 2012, she sold again for £157,500, a drop in value of 10%! A 3 bed semi detached house on Peppercorn Way sold for £192,000 in February this year. When new, it sold for £221,950 in 2006, these are excellent value properties.
Finally, in Kiln Way near Tesco which is a sought after development for commuters using the M1 a new 2 bedroom apartment sold in 2007 for £139,950 and then again in 2012 for £137,500. Considering property values are at a level being achieved in 2005, some lucky person picked up a bargain in January when it sold again for £115,000 ! In this sought after development this apartment will rent for £650pcm giving nearly a 7% rental yield.
