I was at a local breakfast networking meeting at the beginning of October attended by several local businesses and the guest speaker was South West Bedfordshire MP Andrew Selous.
The recently opened Busway was discussed the benefits of which were welcomed by all with Steve Cantellow the Commercial Manager at HSBC vouching for the service by using the Busway as part of his transport later that day for a meeting in London.
Has the Busway had any effect on the property market ? At the same meeting Mr Selous reported recent information showing that house prices had risen near the Busway bus stops in Dunstable.
At Belvoir we have seen the level of interest from both Buy-to-Let landlords and tenants increase as the Busway nearer completion. With a predictable journey time between Dunstable and Luton of 15 minutes which will not be subject to traffic jams, this not only appeals to workers and tenants in both towns, but also those who might be commuting to London from Dunstable and Houghton Regis.
Along with the 5,100-home development north of Houghton Regis and the A5-M1 northern Dunstable bypass we are positive the Busway will help regenerate the economies of Dunstable and Houghton Regis.
