About Evesham

Welcome to Belvoir Evesham the Property Specialists serving Evesham, Tewkesbury, Pershore and the surrounding Cotswold areas.

Evesham is a picturesque riverside market town situated in the Local Authority area of Wychavon and in the county of Worcestershire. It is located on the edge of the Cotswolds, a well-known attractive tourist area, and lies roughly equidistant between the larger towns of Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford Upon Avon (each 30 minutes away).

Evesham was originally built within a loop of the river Avon which flows through the Vale of Evesham, an area well-known for fruit growing and market gardening. The present town comprises EveshamTown, Bengeworth to the East on the other side of the river, and Greater and Little Hampton to the South, which were independent villages until approximately 80 years ago, connected via AbbeyBridge. Whilst horticulture is still prominent in the area, the local economy has diversified to include tourism, warehousing and distribution, finance and manufacturing.

The town provides a wide range of services including a hospital, education (primary, secondary schools and South Worcestershire College), and a variety of leisure activities including an Arts Centre staging amateur and professional theatre productions with a 300 seat auditorium.

Evesham is ideally located at the junction of the A46 and A44 trunk roads with good access to the M5 (10 miles), M40 (22 miles) and M42 (17 miles). Rail links are good with London Paddington reached in 13/4 hours on the Cotswold line. BirminghamInternationalAirport is 40 minutes away by trunk roads and the M42.

Nearby Pershore is an unspoiled picturesque market town, famed for its elegant Georgian architecture and magnificent Abbey. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and delightful villages and is renowned for its independent shops which offer the discerning shopper an extensive range of purchases.

Tewkesbury offers historical attractions, a hospital, the Roses Theatre, sailing club and golf course together with a range of industrial and commercial activities and has a well-developed strategic road and rail network. The M5 provides good links to Birmingham, Bristol, the West Country and South Wales, whilst recent major upgrading of the A417/A419 provides a dual carriageway link between the south of the Borough and the M4 giving easy access to London and the South East.
