A landlord who has invested in rental properties throughout Grantham asked me about the property market in her home village of Allington.
What we found out about the village was quite interesting. The average value of a property in Allington is £277,600, which is just £200 below the average of its neighbouring village of Sedgebrook. The most expensive street in Allington is West Meadows, where an average property is worth in excess of £530,000. Only 108 properties out of the 549 properties have been sold since the summer of 1999.
The most expensive property was a lovely farmhouse on Side Street, which sold for £765,000 in 2007. The average rent in the village over the last 3 years has been £705 per month. Only 8 people have sold their property in the last 12 months, according to the Land Registry.
