Kerb appeal - easy tips to improve it

The kerb appeal of your property will be the first thing potential buyers see. If you had only 8 seconds to win over a potential buyer, what would you do to make first impressions last?

We compiled some top tips that will help you improve the kerb appeal of your property, and you will be surprised how simple most of these improvements are.

Tidy the garden

Your garden doesn’t have to be filled with exotic plants to make a lasting impression.Cut the grass and overgrown hedges. Get rid of those weeds and dead leaves. If you can afford it, a little flower here and there won’t hurt.

Remove clutter

This counts for the entire house. Get rid of any toys, gardening tools or things that make the kerb untidy.

Scrub the windows and doors

What is even worse than an untidy space, is one that is clearly in need of a good clean. Make sure that doors and windows are spotless and squeaky clean.

A fresh coat of paint

You can breathe new life into old fences, doors and window frames with a fresh coat of paint. Remove old rust, give it a good clean and fresh coat of paint and it’ll be good as new.

Put away the bin

We all use them but let’s be honest, it’s an eyesore. Try to put the bins out of sight if possible. Designate a spot round the back of your property for the bins.

Clean the driveway

Give the driveway some TLC by getting rid of any weeds. Cleaning the driveway with a power hose will give it a more cared for look.

Maintenance and repairs

Secure any loose tiles on the roof, get rid of broken pot plants and repair any small maintenance issues that catch the eye. You don’t want your house to look uncared for.

Aesthetic

A pot plant here and there will do wonders for a property. Don’t overdo it though as you want a tastefully decorated garden.
