Nottingham City Council is holding a meeting in central Nottingham next week as an initial starting point for consultation on issuing a legal obstacle to any agent erecting an advertising board within the City Council boundaries. Click Here for more info and a guide.
The meeting, to take place on Wednesday 13th July as part of the consultation process required to implement a so called ‘Article 7’ amendment to the law on a local level to remove the ‘automatic’ permitted development rights to erect a board. Two years ago Nottingham City Council and EMPO worked together to thrash out a ‘Code of Conduct’ for the use of ‘to Let’ boards, but the Council have advised that this has not had the required effect in minimising the number of boards on display.
BELVOIR NOTTINGHAM has been strictly adhering to the Code in all areas, but fear that the meeting is just a matter of formality before the change is implemented.
An invitation to attend is given to all landlords and agents who may be affected by this legislation so they can voice their concerns
