An idea announced yesterday morning by Ed Miliband calls for a complete ban on a Letting Agents ability to charge a tenant any fees whatsoever.
If voted in, this ban will undoubtedly see some agents simply increase landlord fee’s to cover the cost of tenant referencing and administration.
A tenant receives a service from a letting agent when they apply for a property and it is our belief that provided that the fees are balanced and comparable, that a tenant should pay for this service, not their potential new landlord.
If you agree, we urge you to lobby your MP before this goes to vote next Tuesday, 13th May, to try and avoid this ban.
