A year ago Belvoir Peterborough launched our exclusive Buy to Let workshops for property investors and landlords. Due to a very successful first series we are going to offer them again, starting on October 7th with “Getting Started in Buy to Let”.
Belvoir Peterborough offer these events for free because we believe that education is the key to having a successful investment and being a good landlord.
We aim to teach attendees about a different aspect of Buy to Let each time by changing the topic and inviting different speakers from relevant businesses and organisations. Examples of past workshops include “The 2015 Outlook for Buy to Let in Peterborough” where we were joined by Opportunity Peterborough’s Steve Bowyer and “How to Select the Right Investment Property” where speakers included Paul Gowers of Gower Surveyors and a representative from Zoopla Property Group.
The sessions give new and existing investors alike the chance to gain information and advice from Belvoir’s own Buy to Let team and guest speakers. Even established landlords that come along to the events say that they learn useful information due to specialist knowledge of the guest speakers; for example one regular attendee was impressed by the concept of whole house ventilation systems after discovering them in the HMO conversion presentation by Westone at the August workshop.
Attendees also get the chance to ask questions to all speakers as they go along and following the presentation there is a networking session where delegates can book advice appointments, chat with other attendees about their experiences and gain speaker contact information.
The upcoming workshop in October is all about getting started in Buy to Let. We are aiming to answer the what, where, how and why of Buy to Let, particularly, Is now a Good time to Invest?
The senior management team at Belvoir will cover topics including property investment locations, property selection, how to calculate returns and how to find good tenants.
Our guest speakers this month will be: Zoe Taylor, Senior Mortgage and Protection Advisor from Taylor Rose Financial and Toni Hunter, Partner at George Hay Accountants. Zoe will be explaining how buy to let finance works and introducing some of the latest products available and Toni will discuss the forthcoming tax relief changes and how this may affect investors.
The evening is going to be interesting and informative, particularly if you’re wanting to enhance your understanding of buy to let before beginning your investment journey.
