ARLA Reports Change In Rental Attitude

I was delighted to hear this week that the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) has reported a change in rental attitude- and it is about time too!

A survey completed in the last quarter of 2010, has uncovered that 71 per-cent of the landlords interviewed, believed that renting is more popular now than it was just a year ago.

What I found even more encouraging was that 67.2 per-cent of landlords felt that people were now being forced to rent, due to the lack of options open to them in the buyers market.

These findings are an extremely positive step for the residential landlord, as the general public are finally starting to realise that in the current climate, buying a property is just not a feasible option.

Rental property is now a fantastic investment, partly because the buyers market remains almost frozen. It is certainly no surprise as there is a lack of mortgage availability and the requirement for large deposits is at an all time high.

If you are a cash buyer or can get a mortgage I would advise you to buy now. There are some great property investment opportunities at the present time, but ensure that you talk to an independent letting agent in Sheffield like Belvoir first. Getting professional upfront advice is key to making a profit in the rental sector.
