The owners of a specialist lettings agency in Sheffield have swept the board in Belvoir’s national ‘High Achievers’ award scheme following a dazzling business performance over the past year.
Rick Flay and business partner Sarah Powell, who own the Belvoir Sheffield office at 34 Campo Lane in the city centre, scooped a record four top honours at a ceremony staged at the Belton Woods Hotel, near Grantham, Lincolnshire.
They beat over 140 other national Belvoir offices throughout the UK, to take home the Gold Franchise of the Year Award, the Gold Belvoir Group Contribution Award, Belvoir’s Monthly Record Breaker award and the second place winners’ trophy for the Belvoir Rankings Award.
Belvoir Chairman Mike Goddard, praised the couple’s achievements: ”I say the same thing every year about this duo, who run a powerhouse of a business that is doing tremendously well in Sheffield.
“After winning three awards last year, they have excelled themselves in 2013 – earning our very highest gold accolades in two top categories, along with two other top prizes. It’s a fantastic achievement and the entire company sends its congratulations to such a top performing business.”
Belvoir Sheffield achieved a 22 per cent business growth last year – putting the office top of the rankings, achieving a record month of sales turnover along the way.
Throughout the year, Rick also devoted a lot of time and energy to helping develop the Belvoir ‘brand’.
He chaired the Belvoir Marketing Committee and the National Belvoir Networking Group and was instrumental in developing the company’s new website. All of this work earned him the Group’s Gold Contribution Award.
“Rick’s contribution was invaluable throughout last year,“ added Mike Goddard, who presented Rick and Sarah with their clutch of awards alongside comedienne Ruby Wax, who co-hosted the awards ceremony.
“His work, coupled with the tremendous business success of Belvoir Sheffield, makes both Rick and Sarah very worthy winners of our top award – ‘Franchise of the Year’ – and I suspect they are going to need a larger trophy cabinet, because the awards just keep coming for this dynamic team.”

Since opening up for business in Sheffield six years ago, Rick and Sarah have been consistent top performers, picking up a string of honours. In 2012 they won Belvoir’s Franchise of the Year Silver Award, the company’s Gold Group Contribution Award and were also amongst the Belvoir Ranking winners.
