Belvoir Lettings, the leading letting agent in Sheffield, city centre are paving the way in web based work after a new initiative to communicate with both tenant and landlords online using Twitter has paid dividends in breaking down some of the ‘stuffy barriers’ that so often surround the property industry.
The new initiative has seen the regional property specialists posting frequently asked questions on their Twitter page and offering responses in a way that removes the jargon whilst still explaining the ins and outs of property ownership and letting out a property.
Rick Flay, from Belvoir Sheffield who offers houses to let in Sheffield, and flats in Sheffield, said, “Over the years there has been a common perception that letting agents offer their information in a way which excludes those who have a limited level of knowledge. Here at Belvoir we believe in breaking down these barriers using social media sites to talk with our potential customers in new ways.
“We decided to set up a Twitter account and answer some of the most common questions put to us by our prospective tenant and landlords, the answers will then be posted on our blog which can be accessed via Twitter.”
Questions being answered by the team at Belvoir include ‘What do I do if I am in a twelve month contact and I want to get out of it?’ And ‘Will I lose my home if my landlord goes bust?’
Along with the use of Twitter, the firm, which offers property in Sheffield, strive to pave the way in customer satisfaction and are now also using Facebook and reaching out to members on another level by completing regular page updates and sending out email shots as a means of communication.
Rick added, “We want to create an online community where everyone feels welcome to discuss their property problems and where users feel that they can get sound yet practical advice.”
