Demand For Rentals To Remain Steady Way Into 2013 Claims Belvoir Sheffield

Belvoir the leading Sheffield lettings agency is reassuring landlords in South Yorkshire that demand for rental homes is set to remain steady way into 2013- a viewpoint backed up by recent industry figures.

The lettings agency which has an office on Campo Lane in Sheffieldis reporting that landlord confidence has returned with a reported nine out of ten landlords reporting a steady demand for rental homes.

Backed by recent figures from Paragon, where landlords were split about how tenant demand might change in the next 12 months, more than a third (39%) believe tenant demand will increase, while 46% see a stable market and 6% predict falling demand.

Rick Flay,Director at Belvoir Sheffield, who offer a wide range of property to rent Sheffield, said: “Through our own research and by looking at latest industry figures it is clear to see that demand is far outweighing supply for rental accommodation, which means that rental yields are high and void periods are low, making it an excellent time to invest.

“In Sheffield especially, we are finding that more and more investors are interested in student accommodation, and it is one of the strongest performing investment trends, despite a drop in the number of applicants this year.”

Speaking earlier this month, Jo Winchester head of student housing advisory service at CBRE, said: “There is no shortage of investor demand, but the market is hampered by a shortage of new quality development opportunities.”
