Recently the university of Sheffield has begun work to improve the roads surrounding its campus. The development is predicted to cost around £8 million, which will include making new cycling routes, pedestrianizing some streets and adding extra trees to make the area more vibrant. The projects ambition is to improve the connection between the city to the university and introduce a more pleasant environment to the students and citizens of Sheffield.
The plans state that the project should hopefully be completed in September. In order to see the work that is taking place and the affects that it will have on the roads of Sheffield and the public transport, a map can be accessed online which is called ‘Check My Route’.
The University of Sheffield are hopeful that this great transformation will encourage individuals within Sheffield to visit the public services that they offer, such as their cafes and cycle routes.
