1. Brunch at Square Peg Coffee House
The best brunch in Sketty! This independent coffee shop is a huge hit with lovers of a great flat white and dishes made from fresh, locally sourced produce. It’s also a social enterprise so you don’t only get to indulge in incredible dishes but you’re also doing good by dining there.
2. Pamper your pet at Dewkes
This independent, boutique pet shop on Gower Road is a mecca for high quality pet food and accessories. It even has a beautiful in-store, dog-friendly coffee shop and resident animals including a bearded dragon, Freddie. They even offer doggy photoshoots at Christmas! This is a must-visit for any VIP (Very Important Pooch) and their owners!
3. Pasty, pies and pastries at Davies’
This Eversley Road staple, holds a soft spot in the hearts of people across Sketty and beyond. Its sweet and savoury treats feel nostalgic and this family-run business know exactly how to make hearty lunches and snacks. This is a go-to bakery for all your all-time favourites.
4. Swansea’s Botanical Gardens
Swansea’s Singleton Park is the largest green space in the city. Right at the top of the park, at the Sketty entrance, is where you will find Swansea’s Botanical Gardens. Here you’ll escape to a green-fingered paradise as you meander your way through a jungle of both exotic and native plants that transport you to another world completely. This is an incredible get-away from the hustle-and-bustle of the ‘everyday’ and is definitely worth a visit.
5. Transform your home with Freshwater Interiors
If you love interiors but don’t know where to start, look no further than Sketty’s Freshwater Interiors. The team can transform your home through interior design, kitchen and bathroom installations. They will work closely with you to uncover exactly what you want to help you create your dream home. 6. Cocktails at Bar 47
Bar 47 is Sketty’s newest addition. Just look out for the fairy lights at Sketty Cross and you’ll have found this stylish bar and lounge. Here you can enjoy good music, cocktails and incredible charcuterie boards ina relaxed setting. Plus every. Wednesday, courtesy of The Smörgåsboard,you can enjoy a huge selection of boardgames with your mates or dates.
7. Italian feast from Dario’s
Authentic Italian dishes at a small family-run business is a pasta and pizza lover’s dream. Located on Eversley Road, this is a must-dine restaurant with mouth-watering specials boards that update frequently in line with what’s fresh and what’s in season. The reaxed. Atmosphere will have you returning as often as possible!
8. Something nice at Slice
Slice has put Swansea on the map, especially after its two incredible chefs, Chris Harris and Adam Bannister, featured on Great British Menu. Always included on the ‘best restaurants in Wales’ list, you will need to book far in advance for if you want a space at this wedge of food paradise. Located on Eversley Road, just look out for the building shaped just like a slice.
9. Sketty Community Market
There’s no better way to feel immersed in a community that visiting its local market. The Sketty Community Market takes place on the first Saturday of every month at Sketty’s St Paul’s Parish Centre. Here you can meet the local movers and makers and get your hands on artisan foods, local art and incredible pieces all made within Swansea.
10. Pub life
Finding your ‘local’ is a must in any new area and it doesn’t get much better than The Vivian, or the ‘The Viv’ as its affectionately referred to in Sketty. This Brains pub has a huge selection of ales and serves the best pub grub around, including a Sunday dinner of epic proportions. A huge benefit is that it’s dog friendly, so a great spot to grab lunch after exploring the best of Singleton Park!
