Interesting and thought provoking article at Conservative Home from a former Welsh Secretary which asks why the treasury has rather misguidedly penalised landlords when they provide homes which are much needed.
Naturally it’s aimed at a conservative audience rather than landlords per se but is an interesting article.
Looking at this from a first time buyers perspective property prices and the impact of landlords in the sector is a function of supply and demand. Ultimately we need to build more property where they are wanted to relieve pressure on first time buyers and provide the property required to meet demand from tenants.
