London’s smallest house has recently sold for £275,000. Quite an interesting property to look at for the use of space, and an owner would need to be even more careful. A lack of a visible source of heating and clothes washing facilities would concern me. But I suppose it would make a pleasant private alternative to a hotel for a well-heeled gentleman rather than being a full time home. Such a gentleman is unlikely to be needing a washing machine, with dry cleaners to hand.
Perhaps this micro home is not bad value when a three bedroom basement flat in the same road recently sold for £2.1m.
What’s on the market in Hillingdon for £270,000 to £280,000
But I wondered what you could do for similar money. On the market in the area are this nice two bed property with tenants in Park Lodge, West Drayton. On the market for £280,000, it is sited in walking distance of a train to London. If you want more space this property would offer it to you.
But if you wanted a house instead there are any number of choices of two or three bed houses and flats across, Ickenham, Ruislip, Yiewsley, West Drayton and Hayes. This two bedroom flat is close to Uxbridge town centre, and looks really good on first impressions.
Typically rents for good quality two bedroom flats start are around £1,200 which makes for a yield of 5.2%.
So plenty to choose from in our area for similar money with good links to London. By comparison our property is good value for money, thank goodness!
