Spoke to Bradley Hayden, reporting for ‘Hillingdon is Here‘ recently about South Ruislip where I live. The full link to the article can be found here.
Quite excited to see the different forms of commerce coming to the area! Being so close to the Central Line and a short walk to Eastcote, with plenty of good schools it’s a neighbourhood we have been very happy living in for a number of years.
For many of those reasons I still see South Ruislip as a good area for Buy To Let investment with property discounted compared to Ruislip Manor and Eastcote. Perhaps due to the more industrial business in Stonefield Way and Victoria Road and proximity to RAF Northolt.
There are also decent links to the road system, but I would caveat that by saying that traffic is heavy in the early mornings especially on the West End Road, as traffic from Ruislip and Harrow and further afield battles to get onto the A40. But this is not a problem unfamiliar to most people living in Greater London.
Local MP, Boris Johnson has mooted extending the Central Line to Uxbridge. It might help a little and I would be keen to see this pursued further for the wider benefits of better integration. But whilst on that subject I would love to see the Central line extended to West Drayton to link the north of the borough up with Crossrail/The Elizabeth Line.
