I was having our annual clean out at our offices and I came across an article about ‘trends in Lettings.’
It was written in 2008 but was an example of how much the industry has moved on in this short space of time. The author was predicting that there would be a peak in lettings at about 20% of all property by 2020. That is 20 out of 100 houses in your street would be let.
What is interesting is that we have reached that figure now in Watford (census data) and it is forecast nationally to get to 35% by 2030. So what does this tell us?
Well it’s a reflection of the housing market, mortgage supply, and social changes and shows that the lettings market has major growth to come. That is why our investor clients are investing in Watford for the long term and we have a stock of waiting professional tenants.
