Description

Tenure: Freehold

Welcome to this exquisite, large detached family home nestled in the highly sought-after Hall Place Gardens, St Albans. Steeped in history and brimming with character, this stunning property offers a rare opportunity to own a piece of St Albans' architectural heritage. Designed by the renowned architect Percival Blow and believed to have been built in 1904, this home embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of the Edwardian era while providing all the modern comforts required for contemporary family living.

As you approach the property, you are greeted by a charming façade that showcases the timeless beauty of early 20th-century architecture. A well-maintained driveway provides off-street parking for one car, an electric vehicle charging point, complemented by a spacious garage that offers additional parking or ample storage space. The front garden, adorned with mature shrubs, adds to the property's curb appeal, while the rear garden offers a serene and secluded retreat perfect for family gatherings, gardening, or simply enjoying a quiet moment outdoors.

Step inside, and you'll immediately be struck by the grandeur of this home. High ceilings and large windows throughout create an airy and light-filled ambiance, accentuated by the original character features that have been lovingly preserved. The entrance hallway, with its elegant staircase and original tiled flooring, sets the tone for the rest of the house.

The ground floor boasts multiple reception rooms, each with its own distinct charm. The formal living room is a showcase of period features, including an ornate fireplace and decorative cornicing, making it the perfect space for entertaining or relaxing with family. Adjacent to this is a more informal dining/reception room, ideal for everyday living, with direct access to the garden through French doors.

The heart of the home is undoubtedly the spacious kitchen and dining area, where modern meets classic. The kitchen is fully equipped with contemporary appliances and underfloor heating, yet maintains it's character with wooden joinery and sash windows.

Upstairs, the sense of space and light continues. The first floor offers four generously sized bedrooms, each with its own unique character. Additionally there is a study/office space, family bathroom and en-suite to the master bedroom.

To the second floor there is a further bedroom, a storage room/walk-in wardrobe and a boiler room.

This quiet, tree-lined street is known for its community spirit and friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal location for families. Owner's Thoughts

We fell in love with the house the moment we saw it. The property's central location has been ideal for us since day one. The proximity to the shops, mainline station and great schools have been brilliant for us. Our home is conveniently located next to Maple Primary School, and is within easy walking distance of several other schools, including St Albans City School, Verulam School, and St Albans High School for both boys and girls. We're also just a short walk from Clarence Park.

Hall Place Gardens has a wonderful neighborhood spirit. Our street's WhatsApp group keeps us connected as a community. After living here for many years among neighbors who have become dear friends, it's heartening to see young families moving in. We hope the new family that buys this house will love it just as much as we have.
